Description
Pueblo Carao is nestled on a gentle hillside at the edge of the mountain range, on the eastern shore of Laguna Carao, a natural body of water covering 120 hectares. The neighborhood covers 100 hectares with one kilometer of shoreline, and the lots account for just 40% of the total area: the rest is preserved as open space, trails, and common areas to ensure minimal environmental impact.
The master plan includes 99 lots ranging from 4,000 to 6,400 m². Seven have their own shoreline on the lagoon, fifteen are front-row lots along the waterfront, and the rest are spread across the hillside, with views of the water and the La Torta and Cocinero hills.
The name pays homage to Caradog Jones, a Welsh settler who arrived with the Chubut Riflers expedition and was one of the founders of the Esquel Rural Society. Caradog Lagoon eventually came to be known simply as Carao.
